Program at: Visit The Long Term Planning and Support
section of our website The Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy has developed a unique program - the Long Term Planning and Support Program (LTPSP). Parents and other family members have been setting up Wills, Trusts and Life Plans for several years now but they often realize that no matter how well they plan there still remains an important stumbling block , “Who will assist my son or daughter with Cerebral Palsy to continue to have a fulfilled life after we are no longer able to do so?”. To that end a committee comprised of parents, OFCP staff and Board members, and people with disabilities met and developed a program to address these concerns. They determined that the program would have a number of objectives: We are very excited about this program and the Peace of Mind it can bring to families. We believe that having a sound, structured and financially stable organization such as the OFCP providing Lifetime Supports is essential to ensuring continuity to families and individuals with Cerebral Palsy. Parents can know that their sons and daughters’ lives will be enhanced, they will be safe and that they will continue to have a good quality of life in the years to come.. If you would like to hear more about this program please call Gordana Skrba or Cindy De Graaff, Long Term Planning and Support Program Coordinator at the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy at 416-244-9686 or 1-877-244-9686,or cindy@ofcp.on.ca The Children and Families Program supports and responds to requests from families and parents with children with cerebral palsy by offering information and resources that will assist in caring for their child. We also respond to inquiries from professionals, organizations and students regarding cerebral palsy. An example of requests we receive range from questions regarding cerebral palsy, therapies, early intervention services, education, funding and respite care.
Each family’s needs, concerns, priorities and goals for their child make every choice unique. We always endeavour to support families and individuals in making their choices by providing them with complete, relevant, factual information.
